Level 3? Yeah That Means Driving is Optional...I Think

“Just because the roads have some snow on them doesn’t mean you have to go 25 mph in a 55 mph zone.” Really? I understand it sucks when the person in front of you is driving extremely slow, but riding their bumper (or passing them) isn’t going to solve any problems.

In fact, its because of this type of reactionary attitude that there are so many accidents in weather like this. If you would allow some extra time for wherever you are going then this wouldn’t be such an issue. Or would you still reserve the right to complain because you just can’t stand slow drivers? Ha!

What Did You Say About Me?

Where is your favorite place to eat? Why is that your favorite place to eat? What specifically made you think of that particular restaurant? Was it the food, the service, the appearance of the establishment? More importantly, what persuaded you initially to try that restaurant? Was it a friend who said, “You just gotta try it!”?

That restaurant's brand (or reputation) is crucial in getting people in the doors. A brand includes so much more than a logo and color scheme. It is literally how people are talking about that business behind its back. And the same goes for you!

Keep Your Distance Brother

How many of you love our wintry mix outside when it comes to actually driving in it? That's true, it does suck. In fact, it caused nearly 500,000 accidents in January 2009 (yes, I meant 2009, not 2010).

I was following too close to a vehicle when they suddenly hit their brakes for a stoplight (skidding on the pavement towards their bumper…one of those “oh crap” moments), I slid right up to their bumper and tried to do that slight swerve to the right, thinking the sidewalk was a much better option.

Hug It Up

How many times a day do you get offended by someone? How often do you get ticked off at circumstances you have no control over? Have you ever experienced one of the following situations?

• Your boss belittles you in front of a customer
• Your spouse, or significant other, criticizes your morning routine because you turn on a light, or make too much noise, etc
• Your roommate eats all of the food you bought…for yourself…that was supposed to last the week

Law Enforcement Appreciation

It’s freakin cold. And it’s really late, too. I’m talking 10:30 p.m. on a Friday night, that’s late because I’m usually in bed by 9:00 p.m. The drive to Lima was filled with anxiety and curiosity. I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m not exactly the kind of person who enjoys confronting danger, let alone ride along with a Lima Police Department officer on a shift that is practically guaranteed to have something go wrong.
